The Fender Mustang series is one of the best-selling modeling amps and they are very popular among beginner guitar players.
Mustang LT is a new model in the series and it contains three amps with 25, 40, and 50 watts.
In this review, I’ll take a look at the Fender Mustang LT25 which is an amp for practice and is a good option for beginners.
Design
Fender Mustang LT25 has a very modern and minimalist design with nothing special in it.
The front of the amp is very clean and has a black cover with a silver Fender logo and it looks very clean and pleasing.
And the back side of the combo is also very clean and you have only the power output.
The controls are on the top of the combo and you can control everything from here.
There are inputs for the guitar, footswitch, AUX, and headphones. then comes the preamp section with gain, volume, treble, bass, and master volume.
It doesn’t have the mid knob which I really don’t like but as long as it’s a practice modeling amp, it’s not the big deal.
Also, there you have a small screen where you can change presets and different buttons for editing and saving guitar tones.
A very simple and clean design of an amp which I like.
Amp Models & Effects
So, what about amp voicings and effects? Does Mustang LT25 come with lots of options? Well, kinda yes.
This guitar combo includes twenty different guitar amps which are very cool for a small, 25-watt practice amp. You can play any style of music you want.
And the sound quality of the amps is really good, especially since I like clean and crunchy tones.
Also, it comes with twenty-five effects which is also a great option and the sound is still great.
The way it works is that it comes with thirty factories presets and slots for twenty users presets.
So, you can choose any preset, modify it, or create your own. That’s a great feature for this little and affordable guitar amplifier.
I can say that in the amps and effects department, Fender Mustang LT 25 is a great amplifier, especially for beginner guitarists.
How Does Fender Mustang LT25 Sound?
But the most important thing in guitar amplifiers is the sound. So, let’s talk about the quality of the sound of the Mustang LT 25 combo.
All the effects sound awesome and it was always this way. I have owned the first iteration of Mustang amps and the effects sounded great in that amp too.
All the overdrives, modulation, reverb, and delays have very organic and real sound and they can be used in recording too.
However, I can’t say that about amp voicings although I’m satisfied with the overall sound quality.
Clean and crunchy tones are really great and it comes with a couple of great lead tones. Very natural and close to the real amplifiers.
But for my taste, hi-gain tones are not as great as I wanted. However, I can admit that they are better sounding than the first Mustang series.
I’m not saying they are bad but the sound is not as natural as clean and crunchy tones. But it’s very usable in practice or rehearsals.
I know that it’s not the Axe FX 3 but I think Fender should include better heavy tones in their modeling amps.
If you tweak a little you might get a better sound but in my opinion, heavy tones are the weak spot of the LT 25 modeling combo.
Overall, I can say that this is a good-sounding amp and one of the best practice amps for beginner guitar players.
Features
Mustang LT25 also comes with a variety of features that make it even more versatile.
An aux input allows you to plug in your MP3 player or other music device and play along with your favorite songs. A headphone jack lets you practice quietly without disturbing those around you.
And a USB port allows you to connect the amplifier to your computer so you can record your playing directly into your DAW.
Also, you can download the Fender app where you can create more sounds which is a great option for recording.
I like all the presets this amp comes with and how you can edit every preset to your liking.
you can choose any preset and change every component which wasn’t the option in the previous Mustang series.
And having the ability to create an additional twenty custom presets is a plus for me.
And having an option for a footswitch and onboard tuner is always a great option.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a great-sounding amplifier that comes with features and is easy to use, then you should definitely check out the Fender Mustang LT25. With its compact design and wide range of amp models and effects, it’s sure to be a hit with any guitar player. Fender Mustang LT25 is great for bedroom practice and rehearsals.
